The UK press likes to claim that it is scrupulously neutral. Unbiased on the principal issues of the day. As evidence of this claim, they will oft cite the fact that they go out of their way to introduce “balance” into debate and discussion.

Even were this true (it isn’t!), balance does not a fair debate make. In fact, quite the opposite.
