Long story short: we did Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR). Cis bigots complained that not enough trans folk were dying.

Then a right-wing supremacist attacked an LFBTQ+ club in Colorado. This totally set the cat amongst the bigots, who could not agree as whether no trans folk were harmed in the attack; or whether any harm was the fault of trans folk for being trans.

Now read on.

(TW for references to serious anti-trans language and violence)

It was tempting — it really was — to do my usual deep dive. A very dark cartoon, designed to illustrate the hypocrisy of cis folk who, in the space of three short years, have travelled from “having concerns” to “exterminate all trans”. Plus suitably detached commentary.

But i can’t. Events this past weekend are just too bleak; confirm everything trans folk have been saying since the latest moral panic started.

It began, for me, with a tweet by one of the usual suspects (no, i’m not going to grace them with a link) to the effect that not enough trans folk were dying and therefore TDOR gave young people a false impression. No doubt winds them up and got them all over-excited, much the way too…
