Of suicide…and transphobia
Slight departure today as i am going to relay on to an English-speaking audience an appalling story from Italy about a trans teacher, Cloe Bianco, who appears to have taken her life a little more than two weeks back. This is a fairly bald description of events, with a little analysis of parallels to a similar episode in the UK: the suicide of Accrington teacher Lucy Meadows in March 2013.
Needless to say, TW for suicide.

There are still many questions to be answered in the story of Cloe Bianco. Some, perhaps, will never be . For now, though, let us tell that story as it has been reported: and where we do not yet have answers, let us be aware of that.
Untimely death
On a Saturday morning, around two weeks ago, a body was found in a burnt-out camper, parked in the province of Belluno, in the Veneto region of northern Italy. The body — unrecognisable — is believed to be that of Cloe Bianco, a former teacher, who was living in the camper following rejection by friends and family. As of today (25 June) DNA confirmation of the victim’s identity is still awaited. But authorities appear convinced that this is Cloe.
