It’s been a long time coming. But, finally, finally! That book on trans people’s experiences of transitioning in the UK in 2024 — that i promised back in January — is soon to be out. Nine months!

It might have been sooner. But there was the little matter of a General Election. Also, as a director of TransActual, suing the government over the puberty blocker ban. But mid-September it will finally be out there.

Think you know trans people? Think again. Because, if all you know is the patchwork of sensation, half-truth and outright lies promoted by UK media, then you really don’t. Because such stories are all about us; almost never by us.

But if you want to know how trans people feel; to know a little more about what we go through; to hear about our daily experience; then this book may prove a refreshing change.

It is a book for trans and cis readers alike. Although, no apologies: it is strongly oriented towards informing the uninformed. Yes, cis politicians, journalists and GP’s, we’re looking at you.
